Shuman, Lou

Dr. Lou Shuman is the president and CEO of Cellerant Consulting Group and is professionally known for his expertise in Internet strategy, strategic relations, emerging technologies, digital marketing methods, and operational practice management. Highly respected in the dental corporate and education community, he is an executive consultant for KavoKerr Group (KKG), DEXIS, i-CAT, Pelton Crane, WEO Media, ZQuiet, HR for Health, MMG Fusion, OraCare, Vanguard Dental Partners, and CAO Group, among others. He is the Chairman of the Technology Advisory Board for WEO Media, Chairman of the Clinical Advisory Board for ZQuiet, a national columnist on social media for Dental Products Report, a Venturer in Residence for the Harvard i-Lab, a member of the DALE Foundation Strategic Advancement Council, and a member of the Board of Directors at HR for Health. He is a member of the clinical advisory boards and editorial boards at Dentistry Today, Dental Products Report, Dental Practice Report, APEX 360, Inside Dentistry, The Progressive Dentist, and Seattle Sleep Education, as well as the managing editor of Dental Sleep Practice Journal and Orthodontic Practice US. He has also written articles, e-books, and whitepapers for many of these major dental publications. Dr. Shuman is the creator of the prestigious Cellerant “Best of Class” Awards, an unbiased nonprofit initiative that, in conjunction with the leading technology experts in the field, selects annually the most important technologies in the industry. He served as president of the Pride Institute for 6 years and vice president of Clinical Education and Strategic Relations at Align Technology for 7 years. He is recognized as an outstanding speaker and educator and has lectured extensively throughout the United States (including every major dental meeting), Canada, Europe, and Japan. His programs include topics on social media, clear aligner orthodontics, sleep apnea, and traditional and new world marketing. He has been chosen by Dentistry Today as a Leader in Continuing Education each year since 2006. As a guest lecturer at Gordon Christensen’s LDS Annual Meeting he was cited as “one of the most influential dentists in the country today.”

Recently, he was awarded the American Mobile & Teledental Alliance’s highest honor, the Denobi Pinnacle Achievement Award, which recognizes an individual or company whose leadership and ongoing contributions have dramatically impacted the dental profession. Going forward, the award will be named in his honor and known as the Dr. Lou Shuman Denobi Pinnacle Achievement Award. He was also honored this year as a Global Summits Institute Doctor-to-Doctor World’s Top 100 Doctors.
