Golf fans and fathers from everywhere will be tuned in to the 2025 U.S. Open Championship at the storied Oakmont Country Club this week, with the final round set for Father’s Day.

Fan favorites will include the world No. 1 player Scottie Scheffler along with Bryson DeChambeau and Rory McElroy, who finished 1-2 at last year’s U.S. Open title at Pinehurst. But plenty of fans also will be keeping an eye on dentist Matthew Vogt, DDS, whose story is gaining plenty of attention this week.

The 34-year-old dentist, who earned his dental degree from Butler University, shot back-to-back 68s at the Wine Valley Golf Club in Walla Walla, WA. Those two impressive rounds helped Dr. Vogt clinch a spot in the USGA’s marquee championship. Only 16 players in the field for the 125th U.S. Open this week got through local and final qualifying—out of more than 10,000 registrants. That makes the 6-foot-6 dentist’s accomplishment even more impressive.

Dental company Meisinger USA & Canada is proud to announce its official sponsorship of Dr. Vogt, a practicing dentist at The Dentists at Gateway Crossing, as he competes in the U.S. Open Championship, which runs June 12 through June 15.

His remarkable achievement in qualifying for one of golf’s most prestigious tournaments reflects the very values that drive the team at Meisinger USA & Canada—precision, perseverance, passion, and performance at the highest level, the company stated. As a dentist, Dr. Vogt brings meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to excellence—qualities that have clearly translated to success on the golf course.

“Matthew represents everything we believe in,” said Ethan Miller, CEO of Meisinger USA & Canada. “He’s a skilled professional, a leader in his community, and now a competitor on one of golf’s biggest stages. We couldn’t be prouder to support him in this journey.”

As part of this exciting partnership, Meisinger USA & Canada will be proudly represented on Dr. Vogt’s sleeve throughout the tournament—a symbol of their shared commitment to elite performance and steady focus under pressure.

Meisinger USA & Canada added: “We are honored to stand beside Dr. Vogt—not just as a sponsor, but as a partner who believes in his story and his pursuit of greatness. From the dental operatory to the fairways of Oakmont, his journey is an inspiration to professionals everywhere. Good luck, Dr. Vogt—we’re with you every step of the way.”

Adding to Dr. Vogt’s inspiring story are a few interesting life experiences. He grew up just 30 minutes from Oakmont, the site of this week’s championships. He spent 5 seasons as a caddie there, and the storied country club is also where he competed in his first U.S. Amateur in 2021.

Dr. Vogt, who quit the golf team at Butler to focus on his studies, is now competing alongside the world’s best golfers on Father’s Day weekend after losing his father to colon cancer 2 months prior, as reported by Golf Digest.

When he tees off this week, he’ll have support from plenty of golf fans, dentists, and fathers.
